This fossil of two dinosaurs was discovered in Mongolia. The Velociraptor has driven its dead foot claw into the throat of the Protoceratops, but the latter has fought back.
A fossil called The Fighting Dinosaurs was discovered in Mongolia’s Late Cretaceous Djadokhta Formation. It gives concrete proof of predatory behaviour in non-avian dinosaurs by conserving a Protoceratops andrewsi and Velociraptor mongoliensis trapped in fight.
The specimen, which was found in 1971, has generated significant discussion regarding how both animals managed to be relatively completely preserved together. There have been a number of theories put up, such as the possibility that they drowned, that they were not simultaneously buried by a sandstorm or dune collapse, or that they were not buried at all.
